Why image size matters for your website
Photos straight from a phone are often 3 to 6 MB each. A homepage with five of them can weigh 20 MB and take 10 seconds to load on mobile data. Most visitors leave before that, and Google ranks slow pages lower.
For most small business websites, aim for images 1600 pixels wide and under 200 KB. WebP files are usually 25 to 35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, and every modern browser shows them.

Questions about the Image Compressor & Resizer
Why should I compress images?
Large photos are the main reason small business websites load slowly. Smaller images load faster and help your Google ranking.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression happens in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.
What size should website images be?
Usually 1600 to 2000 pixels wide for full-width banners and 800 to 1200 for content images, under 200 KB each where possible.
