What a domain lookup tells you
- Registrar: the company the domain is registered with. That's where you renew it or change its settings.
- Created and expiry dates: how old the domain is and when it must be renewed.
- Status: codes like "client transfer prohibited" are normal locks that protect the domain from being stolen.
- Name servers: which company runs the domain's DNS, usually your host or registrar.
Domain expiring soon? Turn on auto-renew. Want to move your domain or hosting? DearWebSpace can do it for you.

Questions about the WHOIS Domain Lookup
What is a WHOIS lookup?
A public record of a domain name: which company it is registered with, when it was created, when it expires and which name servers it uses. Today it comes from RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS.
Why can't I see the owner's name?
Most registrars hide personal details for privacy (often required by law, such as GDPR). You usually see the registrar and dates, not the person.
How do I find when my domain expires?
Look up your domain here and check the expiry date. Turn on auto-renew in your registrar account so it never lapses.
Rather not do it yourself?
